MICHAEL O'CONNELL is President and Chief Executive Officer of A.P.
Pharma, Inc. He joined the company in July 1992 as Chief Financial
Officer. He became President and Chief Executive Officer of A.P. Pharma
(formerly Advanced Polymer Systems) in August 2000 after holding
positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior
to joining A.P. Pharma, he served for 12 years in a number of positions
with CooperVision, Inc., including Corporate Controller of The Cooper
Companies, and Vice President, Finance and Administration of
