MICHAEL HERNANDEZ is Chairman and CEO of Managed Care Solutions, Inc.
He has over twenty years of experience in investment and merchant
banking, advising on numerous acquisitions, mergers, and corporate
reorganizations. He has been responsible for completing over $20
billion in financing. Mr. Hernandez formed the first health care
investment-banking group at a major Wall Street firm in 1973. He also
founded The Cova Corporation, a merchant bank, which has developed
several health care companies. Mr. Hernandez has served, or is serving,
on the following boards: Charter Medical Corporation (Chairman); The
First Boston Corporation (Management Committee); Harvard Community
Health Plan, Inc. (Chairman); AMI P.I.C. (Chairman); Securities Industry
Association (Executive Committee); PathoGenesis Corporation; and
International Diagnostic Corporation (Chairman). He also serves as a
member of the board of visitors for Duke University, and is a former
trustee of The Hospital Research and Educational Trust. Prior to
beginning his investment-banking career, Mr. Hernandez was a management
consultant specializing in corporate strategy at Booz, Allen & Hamilton,
