Michael Foster – Kvaerner Metals Worldwide

MICHAEL FOSTER is Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Kvaerner Metals. Mr. Foster was born in 1953. He read Engineering at Peterhouse College, Cambridge and went on to qualify as a lawyer and was called to the Bar in 1977. Mr. Foster practiced at the Bar until 1985, when he joined GKN (the multi-national engineering group), where he spent 9 years in senior roles. In 1994, he joined Trafalgar House as the Senior Finance Executive responsible for commercial and strategic evaluation of the company's major contracts particularly within the Engineering business. Mr. Foster was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Davy International, part of Trafalgar House Group, in 1995, which was taken over by Kvaerner ASA in May of the following year. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and has been on the Editorial Committee for the official journal of the association. Mr. Foster is married with 2 children. His interests include fine arts, music and 19th and 20th century English Literature. Profile
