Maurizio Costa – Arnoldo Mondadori Editore

MAURIZIO COSTA is Managing Director of Mondadori. Born in Pavia in 1984, Maurizio Costa is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the University of Genoa. After working for the state holding company IRI, worked as a management consultant. In 1984, he joined the Montedison Group. From 1985 to 1988, Mr. Costa was the Director of Strategy and Development at Standa. In 1988, he moved to Fininvest, where he was Director of Organisational Development. In 1989, Mr. Costa returned to Standa as General Manager with responsibility for operative management. In 1992, he joined Mondadori as Director of Editorial Shareholdings and was responsible for the coordination and control of the Group's foreign subsidiaries. He was also responsible for acquisitions and disposals and strategic and new business development. In December 1994, Maurizio Costa was appointed Managing Director of the Elemond group and became a board member of all the companies of the Group, including Electa, Giulio Einaudi Editore and Elemond Scuola and in 1996 also became responsible for coordination and control of Speling & Kupfer. In February 1997, he was nominated General Manager of the Mondadori Group and was subsequently invited to join the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Arnoldo Mondadori Editore.
