MARIO LEVIS – DORAL FINANCIAL CORPORATION (DRL)

MARIO (SAMMY) LEVIS is Senior Executive Vice President and Treasurer at Doral Financial Corporation. After working several summers at the Chicago Board of Trade as a runner during 1984 and 1985, he graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. A year and a half later, he graduated from De Paul University in Chicago, Illinois, where he obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration in December 1986. From January 1987 to October 1988, he was employed as a Bond Trader for Merrill Lynch Capital Markets in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and also managed the 'Repo Book.' In December 1988 he joined Doral Financial Corporation as the Senior Trader of Mortgage Backed Securities. In 1995, Mr. Levis became Doral's Executive Vice President and Treasurer in charge of trading, repo book operations and all types of financing activities. He supervised the investment department, managed hedging activities, handled credit and most equity investor relations, and served as the main liaison with rating agencies and other local financial institutions. During 2002, Mr. Levis was promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and Treasurer. Mr. Levis is a Director of Doral Securities' Board, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Doral Financial Corporation.
