Leonard Firestone – Manhattan Pharmaceuticals Inc (mhtt)

DR. LEONARD L. FIRESTONE was appointed Chief Executive Officer and President of Manhattan Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in January 2003 and subsequently was elected to the Board of Directors. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Firestone served as CEO of Innovative Drug Delivery Systems, Inc., of New York, a privately held pharmaceutical development company. From 1996 to 2001, Dr. Firestone served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of University Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine Foundation, an anesthesiology, critical care and pain management clinical practice management company, as well as Chair of UACCMF's Pension Trustees. Dr. Firestone was Research and Clinical Fellow at Yale School of Medicine from 1979 to 1980, a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow in Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School's Department of Pharmacology from 1980 to 1985, an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School from 1985 to 1987, an Associate Professor at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 1994 to 1996, and an endowed Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 1996 to 2001. Dr. Firestone held a prestigious National Institutes of Health's Principal Investigatorship from 1985 to 2001, and served as a permanent member of the National Institutes of Health's Anesthesiology Review Committee, Division of Research Grants, from 1997 to 2001. Dr. Firestone holds a BS in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook, an MD from the Yale School of Medicine and is certified by his specialty Board. Profile
