The principal founder of Aspen Technology, Larry B. Evans has served as
chairman and CEO since 1984. Prior to founding AspenTech, Evans was a
professor of chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT) and the principal investigator for the Advanced System
for Process Engineering (ASPEN) Project at MIT from 1976 to 1981. Evans
holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and
an M.S.E. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of
