KONRAD P. WIRZ An economist, educated at the University of Bern with
later additional training at INSEAD, Mr. Wirz spent 20 years at Sandoz
in different positions of increasing responsibility. From 1988 until
1993, he served for five years as Chief Financial Officer of US-based
Northrup King, an affiliate of Sandoz Seeds. Upon his return to
Switzerland, he was Head of Systems and Controlling at Sandoz Seeds.
Before joining Actelion in May 2001, he served for five years as the CFO
of Schweizerhall, a conglomerate company with sales of around $700
million. In his assignments, he gained special knowledge in the areas of
corporate valuations, controlling and strategic financial planning in
such areas as seeds, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical toll manufacturing
and luxury goods. Profile

Mr. Wirz: Actelion is a Swiss biopharmaceutical company that is focusing
on drug discovery, development and
