Kenneth Gray – Scipher Plc (sip.l)

DR KENNETH GRAY has been the Chairman and CEO of Scipher Plc since its formation in 1996. He was Technical Director of EMI Group Plc, and previously Thorn EMI Plc since 1984. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) and PhD from the University of Wales and was awarded a DSc from Nottingham Trent University in 1998. He held a National Research Council of Canada Post Doctorate Fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Canada from 1963-1965. He then carried out industrial R&D at the Rockwell Science Centre in California. In 1971 Dr Gray joined the UK Ministry of Defence at the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment and later became its Deputy Director. Dr Gray is a Visiting Professor of the University of Nottingham and has been a member of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales since 1996. He was a member of the Technology Foresight Steering Group of the UK Government's Office of Science and Technology from 1992-1997. He was a Non-Executive Director of British Steel Plc from 1995-1999.
