KENNETH J. BOWIE is President, CEO and Director of Progress Energy Ltd.
He is a Halifax native with 19 years of engineering and business
experience in the oil and gas industry. After completing his Engineering
Degree in Nova Scotia, Mr. Bowie moved to Calgary, Alberta, where he
worked at Petro-Canada Resources Ltd. from 1982 to 1993 as a Senior
Reservoir Exploitation Engineer. During this time period, he furthered
his formal education by receiving an MBA from the University of Calgary.
In 1993 he became the co-founder of the reorganization of a TSE-listed
oil and gas company, Interaction Resources Ltd. As COO, Vice President
of Production, and Director, he was instrumental in guiding this
organization from 60 to 1,200 boe/d and adding reserves from 200,000 to
four million boes. In October 1997 he became the founder, President and
CEO of Progress Energy Ltd., a junior oil and gas company currently
listed on the Canadian Venture Exchange. Mr. Bowie has overseen the
tremendous growth of this company from a start-up operation to current
production of greater than 2,000 boe/d, with annualized Q1 cash flows of
$11 million and proven reserves of 2.8 mmbbls of liquids and 19.2 bcf of
