JOHN GALLAWAY, actively involved in the gaming industry since 1979, was
named President of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., in December 1995. Mr.
Gallaway's leadership has been instrumental in developing Isle of Capri
Casinos' standardized approach to gaming and the 'IsleStyle' operating
philosophy. Before joining Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., he had been
Deputy Managing Director for Gaming for Sun International in
Johannesburg, South Africa. From 1981-1992, Mr. Gallaway worked for the
Aztar Corporation serving as President and General Manager of the
TropWorld Casino & Entertainment Resort in Atlantic City, and President
and General Manager of the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Mr.
Gallaway's leadership in the gaming industry also includes Caesars
World, where he was Senior Vice President of Caesars Tahoe in Lake Tahoe
and Vice President of Hotel Operations of Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.
Recently, he was responsible for developing and directing the Gaming
Education and Research Institute at the University of Houston's Conrad
N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Mr. Gallaway held
a number of senior management positions with Loews Hotels and Loews
Corporation from 1963-1979. Mr. Gallaway's community involvement
includes serving as Campaign Chairman and President of the United Way
and President of the Volunteer Center for Atlantic County, New Jersey.
Mr. Gallaway received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Cornell
University and an MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of
