JEFFREY L. CANNON was appointed President and Chief Executive
Officer and a member of the Board Of Directors of Novalux, Inc.,
in January 2003. Mr. Cannon originally joined Novalux in April
2002 as Chief Operating Office to lead the company's change in
strategic direction from non-frequency-doubled IR NECSEL lasers
for telecommunications to frequency-doubled IR lasers for a
variety of visible wavelength laser applications. Prior to
joining Novalux, he served as Vice President and General Manager
for the Commercial Laser Division of JDS Uniphase Corporation for
three years, Vice President and General Manager of the Precision
Motion Control and Metrology Division for Newport Corporation for
four years, and held various management positions in marketing,
applications engineering, R&D, and operations during 16 years at
Coherent, Inc. Mr. Cannon received his BS Degree in Physics with
a Mathematics minor from San Jose State University in 1982, with
an emphasis in Optics, Quantum Mechanics and Lasers. Since then,
he has taken numerous post-graduate courses while pursuing degree
programs in both the MS Physics and MBA programs at San Jose
State University. Mr. Cannon is a Member of the American
Management Association, the California State University - San
Jose -Alumni Association, the Institute of Electronic and
Electrical Engineers, the Optical Society of America, the
International Society of Analytical Cytometry, and he is a member
of the Board of Directors for the Laser and Electro-Optics
Manufacturers Association. Mr. Cannon's functional experience
includes operations, manufacturing engineering, R&D engineering,
product line management, strategic marketing, applications
engineering, business unit management, general management,
corporate Vice President, President and CEO, and corporate Board
of Directors member. He has given numerous international
technical and business presentations to a variety of audiences
including academic researchers, customers, investors, vendors and
corporate boards. Mr. Cannon has also published numerous articles
