James Woodward – Encelle Inc

JAMES D. WOODWARD has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Encelle, Inc. since 1996. Mr. Woodward has more than 22 years of experience in the life-sciences industry, primarily in start-up and development-stage companies. From 1981 to 1986, he was CFO of Advanced Cardiovascular Systems, Inc., which was acquired by Eli Lilly and Company in 1984 and is now known as Guidant Corporation. Mr. Woodward was President & CEO of Cardiometrics from 1986 to 1990. Between 1991 and 1995 he was interim CEO in both start-up and turnaround situations (Intella Systems and Aprex Corporation) as well as being an active investor in early-stage life science companies. He was a co-founder of Ventana Medical Systems, Interventional Technologies, and Accordant Health Services. TWST: Could you introduce us to Encelle, including an overview of your

technology and a brief history of the company?

Mr. Woodward: The technology was actually developed in the early days
