JAMES SARTAIN – FIRSCITY FINANCIAL CORPORATION (FCFC)

JAMES T. SARTAIN is President and Chief Executive Officer of FirstCity Financial Corporation in Waco, Texas. Mr. Sartain began his career in Texas commercial banking in 1971 before joining FirstCity Financial Corporation (then J-Hawk Corporation) in July 1988. FirstCity is a diversified financial services company headquartered in Waco, Texas, with offices in the United States, Europe and Latin America. The company began operating in 1986 as a specialty financial services company focused on acquiring and resolving distressed loans and other assets. Today the company is engaged in two principal businesses: the portfolio acquisitions & resolution business and consumer lending. Mr. Sartain has served on various civic boards and committees and remains active in the Waco community. He has been awarded lifetime membership status in the Waco Chamber of Commerce and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Baylor Lettermen's Association, the Heart O'Texas Fair and Rodeo, and the Advisory Board of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. Mr. Sartain holds a BBA degree from Baylor University, as well as a degree from the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University, where he also serves as an instructor.
