JAMES N. RYAN is a co-founder of Petroleum Development
Corporation and has been with the company since its inception in
1969, serving as President from 1970-1983, and as Chairman since
1983. Mr. Ryan has over 30 years of experience in and around the
oilfield, and has served as an Executive Officer of one or more
oil and gas companies for more than 25 years. He was selected the
1993 Oil and Gas Man of the Year in West Virginia, and a former
Oilman of the Year in Tennessee and a member of numerous industry
groups. Mr. Ryan is well regarded throughout the industry and has
numerous industry and political affiliations. He has served a
seven-year term on the West Virginia Oil and Gas Conservation
Commission and served one term as President of the Independent
Oil and Gas Association of West Virginia. Profile
