HAL M. KRISBERGH is Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
WorldGate Communications, Inc. Under his leadership, WorldGate has grown
from a mere concept to the cable industry's premier provider of
Interactive Television (ITV) services. Prior to forming WorldGate in
1995, Mr. Krisbergh served for 13 years as President of the
Communication Division of General Instrument (now Motorola Broadband
Communications Sector). He joined GI in 1981, the year the company
introduced addressable cable converters, set-top boxes that allowed
cable operators to offer a variety of services to a subscriber's home.
In 1985, he led the development of Cable Video Store, one of the first
pay-per-view services. Later he developed the first commercial-free
music service, called Digital Cable Radio, which evolved into today's
Music Choice. In March 1995 he founded WorldGate with major investments
for the company by both of the leading cable set-top box manufacturers,
GI and Scientific-Atlanta. A 19-year cable veteran, Mr. Krisbergh is
recognized for many contributions to the industry. In 1991, he received
cable's highest honor, the prestigious Vanguard award from the National
Cable Television Association. In 2000, he was named Greater
Philadelphia's Entrepreneur of the Year for Media and Communications by
Ernst & Young. Mr. Krisbergh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering from City College of New York and an MBA degree
