STEPHEN WILLIAMS joined Pearl Assurance where he initially worked as a
statistician, transferring to the Investment Department in 1981. His
role was initially as an Engineering Analyst before becoming a fund
manager. In 1987 Stephen was recruited by County Nat West Investment
Management to head up their small companies team and included launching
and managing Natwest Smaller Companies Investment Trust Plc. After a
period at James Capel, Stephen is now senior analyst in Williams de
Broe's Institutional Research team in Birmingham, specialising in
