EMERGING HEALTHCARE BUSINESS MODELS: THOMAS CROSWELL – CIGNA HEALTHCARE

THOMAS A. CROSWELL is Senior Vice President, Consumerism & Integration, of CIGNA HealthCare, a position he has held at CIGNA since March 2004. In this position, Mr. Croswell is responsible for CIGNA's consumer- directed health products, and the application of the company's multi- functional clinical management resources to improve the cost and quality of healthcare delivery. Mr. Croswell also is responsible for CIGNA's disease management programs. Prior to his current position, Mr. Croswell served as President of Intracorp, where he was responsible for medical management services provided to both CIGNA HealthCare and stand-alone customers, as well as Intracorp's disability management operations. From 2000 to 2003, he served as President of CIGNA Pharmacy Management, where he was responsible for the overall operations and strategic growth initiatives for CIGNA pharmacy product lines. Mr. Croswell joined CIGNA in 1997 as President and CEO of CIGNA Dental, where he was responsible for all dental indemnity, HMO, and preferred provider organization business. Mr. Croswell came to CIGNA from Prudential, where his last position was President and CEO of Dental Operations. He also was senior vice president of Prudential's Corporate Headquarters Group, responsible for national policy and support for Prudential's medical and dental care organizations. While at Prudential for 26 years, Mr. Croswell served in numerous management and executive positions in its employee benefit and individual insurance businesses. Mr. Croswell holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Syracuse University in New York and attended the Wharton School of Business Advanced Management Program.
