Ecb Bancorp, Inc. – Dwight Utz

Dwight Utz joined the East Carolina Bank in July 2009 as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Utz worked in the banking industry from 1972 to 2000 at the former CCNB Bank and with its acquirer, PNC Bank Corp. At CCNB Mr. Utz held positions in retail banking, human resources and advanced to the position of Senior Vice President/Regional Market Executive when CCNB was acquired by PNC Financial Services Corp. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Utz served as Corporate Vice President/Manager of Human Resources in Pittsburgh. He also served as the Director of Branch Network Re-Engineering, developing and executing branch plans for the retail delivery channel. He left PNC in 2000 and joined the financial services consulting firm Comtempo Design, Inc., serving as its Retail Financial Services Consultant from 2000 to 2001. Mr. Utz returned to banking in 2001, joining Midsouth Bancorp, headquartered in Lafayette, La. He served as its Executive Vice President/Chief Retail Officer until he was appointed by East Carolina Bank to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2009. Mr. Utz holds a degree in business administration from Central Pennsylvania College. He also attended the University of Delaware, Stoner Graduate School of Banking, and has completed the Executive Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Learning in Colorado. Mr. Utz has been involved in several civic state and local organizations, including the American Heart Association, the Rotary Club, various Chambers of Commerce and state banking organizations.
