Duncan Lewis – Global Telesystems Inc & Ebone (gts)

DUNCAN LEWIS joined Global TeleSystems (GTS) in January 2001 as President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the day to day operations of the company and, in particular, Ebone, the company's core business unit. Ebone is Europe's original and most experienced broadband IP and optical networking company, and a wholly owned division of GTS. Lewis, 49, is a recognised leader in the global data and telecommunications industry, with more than 20 years experience in senior roles across the sector. Prior to joining GTS, Lewis was Managing Director and Chief Corporate Development Officer of Equant NV. Amongst his other achievements, Lewis was part of the senior team that brought Equant to profitability within three years of its start-up and built a customer base that includes around 30% of the Global 1000 companies. Prior to Equant, Lewis' senior roles included: Chief Executive Officer, Mercury Communications; Managing Director, Cable and Wireless Europe, and Business Networks; and Chief Executive Officer, Granada Media.
