Douglas Richard – Micrografx Inc (mgxi)

Douglas Richard was named president and CEO of Micrografx in January of 1997. He was also appointed to the Company's board in a unanimous vote by the Mircografx board of directors. A recognized entrepreneur and founder of Visual Software, which was acquired by Micrografx in April 1996, Richard has taken an aggressive position in refining the strategy and vision of Micrografx, currently a $70 million, publicly traded company. Richard is chartered with strategic direction for all initiatives, including managing new product development and branding, identifying and nurturing emerging market entries, steering strategic acquistions, and providing the direction for continued international growth. Improving the company's long-term financial stability and delivering results to shareholders are key elements of Richard's day-to- day activities. The company has recognized over 200 percent growth in share price in the price in the 12 months. In addition to founding Visual Software , Richard founded ITAL Computers in 1985, which was recognized as the largest CAD systems integrator in California. Richard received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Profile
