DOUGLAS W. KOHRS was hired April of 1999 as President and CEO of
American Medical Systems, Inc. after eight successful years at Spine-
Tech, Inc. (now Sulzer Medica Ltd.) as part of the founding team and
ultimately, General Manager. Mr. Kohrs's total 18 year experience in the
medical device industry includes employment at Johnson & Johnson
Orthopaedics and Zimmer, a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he
assumed positions of increasing responsibility in Research and
Development. He received a BS degree in BioEngineering from Texas A & M
University, a BA degree in Engineering Sciences from Austin College, and
an MBA from Northeastern University, Boston, MA. Profile
