DONALD B. RICE, PhD, has served as President and Chief Executive Officer
of UroGenesys, Inc., since he helped found the company in 1997. Dr. Rice
previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer at Teledyne,
Inc. from 1993-1996. Prior to Teledyne, he served as Secretary of the
Air Force from 1989-1993 and as President and CEO of the RAND
Corporation from 1972-1989. Dr. Rice also serves on the Board of
Directors of several corporations, including Amgen, Inc., and Scios,
Inc., where he is non-executive chairman. Dr. Rice received a BS degree
in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an MS in
Industrial Management from Purdue University, and a PhD in Economics,
also from Purdue. Profile
AYA JAKOBOVITS, PhD, is Senior Vice President, Technology and Corporate
Development and Chief Scientific Officer at Agensys, Inc. She joined the
company in January 1999 after serving as Director of Discovery Research
and Principal Scientist at Abgenix, Inc., since its founding in 1996.
Dr. Jakobovits was previously at Cell Genesys, Inc., where she served in
a number of positions since 1989, most recently as Director of Molecular
Immunology. She is known for her leadership in developing the XenoMouse_
technology, and its utilization for production of therapeutic fully
human monoclonal antibodies, including ABX-EGF, a fully human antibody
to EGF receptor. Dr. Jakobovits received her PhD in Life Sciences and an
MSc in Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot,
Israel, and her BSc in Chemistry from the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem, Israel. She did her post-doctoral work at the University of
