DOMINIC J. CARUSO joined Centocor in 1985 and has been a Vice President
since 1991. He was named Chief Financial Officer in 1994 and was named a
Senior Vice President in 1997. His areas of responsibility include
worldwide finance and treasury operations, worldwide information
technology systems, investor relations and corporate communications, and
corporate purchasing. In addition, he served as acting head of the
company's Diagnostics Division from January 1997 to July 1997. Prior to
joining Centocor, Mr. Caruso was associated with KPMG Peat Marwick for
six years. A certified public accountant, he is a member of the American
and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and serves
on the Board of Directors of the Association of Bioscience Financial
Officers. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
