Dennis Ganster – Comshare Inc (csre)

DENNIS G. GANSTER is President and Chief Executive Officer of Comshare, Inc. He joined Comshare in 1972 as a technical representative in the company's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. He relocated to Cleveland, Ohio as his career in the field progressed through customer service, sales, and sales management positions. In 1982, Mr. Ganster relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan as marketing director for Comshare. In this position he launched System W in the North American market and helped establish it as the DSS market leader during that period. In 1987, Mr. Ganster became Vice President, responsible for product management. In this role he was responsible for the product planning and strategies that helped create the executive information systems market and make Commander EIS the market leader. In 1993, Mr. Ganster was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. He led the company's technology transition to the client/server and Internet platforms. He also led the company's product mix shift from tools to packaged applications based on a common technology platform known as the Comshare Application Architecture. Mr. Ganster was elected to his present position in August 1997. Mr. Ganster holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in industrial engineering and a Master's degree in Business Administration. He has also done doctoral work in the field of Operations Research. Mr. Ganster is married with two children. His personal interests include coaching youth baseball, playing golf and scuba diving.
