DAVID MITCHELL, President and COO of webMethods, Inc., oversees sales
and marketing, business development, professional services and customer
care for the company's worldwide operations. Additionally Mr. Mitchell
works closely with the company's CEO Phillip Merrick and the webMethods
management team to further refine webMethods' strategy for continued
leadership in the multi-billion dollar integration software market. Mr.
Mitchell joined webMethods in 1997 as Vice President of Sales, managing
webMethods' worldwide sales teams and building a customer base of more
than 550 blue-chip customers. In this role, he built the global sales
organization from the ground up and grew the company's revenues from
less than $1 million to an annual revenue run rate in excess of $182
million. Prior to joining webMethods, Mr. Mitchell served as Director of
Worldwide Sales for the Network Management Group at McAfee Software, now
Network Associates, Inc., where he was responsible for all worldwide
revenue of the Network Management and Help Desk product lines. During
his tenure at Network Associates, Mr. Mitchell helped grow annual
revenues from $5 million to more than $60 million in two years.
Previously, Mr. Mitchell was President and CEO of Vycor Corporation, a
software start-up specializing in help desk and customer interactivity
software. In 1995, Mr. Mitchell successfully orchestrated the sale of
