David Margolese – Sirius Satellite Radio Inc (siri)

DAVID MARGOLESE is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and co-Founder of Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc. Mr. Margolese, the pioneer of the satellite radio category, recognized, almost 10 years ago, the need for a cable- like audio service to motorists. With a partnership with Robert Briskman, they had the technical expertise to create the plans for a satellite-delivered transmission system. Mr. Margolese also had the tenacity to create the S-DARS industry, by getting the FCC to auction licenses, and had the financial acumen to raise almost $1 billion to launch Sirius Satellite Radio. Along with co-Founder Robert Briskman, Mr. Margolese is leading Sirius Satellite radio in its efforts to capitalize on the power and scope of satellite technology to bring motorists a more diverse mix of music and talk radio than conventional radio allows. Prior to his involvement in Sirius Satellite Radio, Mr. Margolese co-founded Cantel, Inc., a Canadian cellular network, which has become one of Canada's leading national cellular telephone carriers. Mr. Margolese also founded Canadian Telecom, a radio paging company, and served as its President until the sale of the company in 1987. Profile
