David Arthur – Brascan Real Estate Opportunity Fund (bnn.a)

DAVID ARTHUR is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fund Manager. Prior to joining the Fund, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Properties Ltd. and a Director of Brookfield Properties Corporation. Currently he is Chairman of Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls, the largest facility management enterprise in Canada with over 75 million square feet and he is a Director of the Canadian Institute of Public and Private Real Estate Companies. From 1992 to 2003, he oversaw all aspects of Brookfield's business in Canada as well as in Denver, Minneapolis and southern California. These activities included small and large property acquisitions, value-add capital and leasing programs, operations, financing and the sourcing of institutional partners. In 2002 Mr. Arthur and his team leased over 2 million square feet. In addition he was involved in investor relations and sat on the four-person Executive Committee of the company with his major focus on all acquisitions completed by the company. He began his career in 1978 at Cadillac Fairview and in 1980 at Cambridge Leaseholds where he was involved in a wide range of development and leasing programs. He received his Honors degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo in 1975 and his Master of Science degree in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia in 1977.
