CHRISTOPHER MOTTERN, President and Chief Executive Officer of Peet's
Coffee & Tea, Inc., oversees the company's multi-channel business with
the vision to provide the freshest, best-tasting coffee in the world.
Mr. Mottern brings more than 20 years of beverage experience to Peet's,
including a 17-year tenure at Heublein's Spirits and Wines. At Heublein,
Mr. Mottern served five years as President of the domestic wine
operation, where he was recognized by his employees for empowering
people and for encouraging a creative and highly trusting non-
bureaucratic environment. Mr. Mottern also served as President and Chief
Executive Officer of Capri Sun, Inc., from 1986 through 1991. While with
Capri Sun ' one of the largest juice drink retailers in the United
States ' he led a company turnaround that culminated in the company's
sale for 26 times the original investment. Mr. Mottern is a graduate of
