Christian Haub – The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company Inc (gap)

CHRISTIAN W. E. HAUB is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P), the Montvale, New Jersey-based operator of more than 700 supermarkets in 15 states, the District of Columbia and Ontario, Canada. Mr. Haub joined the company in 1991, when he was elected Vice President, Development and Strategic Planning and a member of the Board of Directors. In December 1993, he was elected President and Chief Operating Officer, and was additionally named co-Chief Executive Officer in April 1997. In May 1998, Mr. Haub was elected President and Chief Executive Officer. He was elected Chairman of the Board in April 2001, and assumed that office on May 1. Prior to joining A&P, Mr. Haub spent two years at Dillon, Read & Co., a private investment bank based in New York, and one year at Global Reach, Inc., a strategic and financial advisory firm also with headquarters in New York. Mr. Haub is a partner of The Tengelmann Group, Muelheim, Germany, one of the world's largest food retailing companies and the majority shareholder of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc.
