CHRIS MACASKILL, CEO and President, co-founded fatbrain.com (at the time
named Cbooks Express) in June 1995 in true Silicon Valley tradition in
his garage. He as Kim Orumchian built the business together including
programming the website, creating back-end technology and building the
operations, marketing and finance departments. The two then acquired
Computer Literacy Bookshops, a successful 14-year-old retail chain, to
form Computer Literacy, Inc. In March 1999, the company changed its name
o Fatbrain.com. Prior to founding Fatbrain.com, Chris was Director of
Developer Relations at NeXT and General Magic. Before that, Chris was VP
of Engineering at Western Atlas International, a high-technology Fortune
500 company. In 1982, Mr. MacAskill founded Psi, a petroleum engineering
company that was later acquired by Western Atlas International. He has
an M.S. in Geophysics from Stanford University. Profile
