Charles Atwood – Harrah’s Entertainment Inc (het)

CHARLES L. ATWOOD is Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer for Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. His responsibilities include all financial functions of the company, including Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, as well as planning and analysis. Mr. Atwood joined the company in 1979, when he worked on the acquisition of Harrah's by Holiday Inns, Inc. He moved to investor relations in 1980 and handled this function throughout the transition of the company from Holiday Inns to Holiday Corporation, the sale of the Holiday Inn hotel business, and the formation and ultimate spinoff of The Promus Companies. Harrah's Entertainment was created as a result of the last spinoff. He was named Treasurer in 1996 and promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2001. Mr. Atwood has served on numerous special projects and task forces. He received his MBA in Finance from Tulane University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
