Bruce Klatsky – Phillips-van Heusen Corporation (pvh)

BRUCE J. KLATSKY, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, strategically directs the daily operations of the company, one of the largest apparel and footwear companies in the world. After graduating cum laude from Case Western Reserve University and studying law at the Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Klatsky joined Phillips-Van Heusen in 1971 as a merchandising trainee. He was named President of the Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation in 1987, heading a company with annual sales at the $500 million level. He was appointed CEO in 1993 and Chairman in 1994. Mr. Klatsky is a member of the Board of Directors of both Human Rights Watch and Business for Social Responsibility, a Trustee of Case Western Reserve University, and a past member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of The American Apparel Manufacturers Association. He served on President Clinton's White House Apparel Task Force, which is addressing working conditions around the globe, and as an advisor on US trade policy to the administrations of Presidents Reagan and Bush.
