BERNARD J. WHITNEY joined Handspring, Inc., as Chief Financial Officer
in June 1999. He comes to Handspring from Sanmina, Inc., an electronics
manufacturing company where he served as Executive Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer. A primary focus at Sanmina was leading the
systems technology and strategic development effort that included eight
successful acquisitions. Prior to Sanmina, Mr. Whitney served as Vice
President of Finance for Network General Corporation, a network fault
tolerance and performance management solutions company. From 1987 to
1995, he held a variety of positions in corporate finance for mass
storage manufacturer Conner Peripherals. He has an MBA from San Jose
University and a BS in Business Administration from the California State
