BEN C. BARNES, President & CEO of Sagent Technologies, Inc., joined
Sagent from IBM, where he was General Manager of the company's Global
Business Intelligence Solutions unit, as well as a member of IBM's
Executive Committee. Before arriving at Sagent, Mr. Barnes amassed more
than 20 years of management and executive knowledge and more than 30
years of technology sales and marketing management experience. Before
joining IBM, Mr. Barnes was successful in various sales and marketing
positions at Burroughs, now a part of Unisys, where he ultimately served
as Defense Systems Director. After Unisys, his career path led him to
Teradata Corp., where he pioneered the first commercial applications of
parallel computing in the mid-1980s. He also successfully introduced the
first large-scale commercial business intelligence systems at Teradata.
As General Manager of Worldwide Marketing, he grew Teradata's marketing
organization, while handling market and product requirements, strategic
planning, marketing programs, corporate communications and marketing. Profile

Mr. Barnes: Sagent Technology was founded approximately five years ago.
Its mission at that time was to pioneer
