J. RILEY MCDONOUGH was named Vice President of Advertising Sales for ESPN.com, the leading sports site, in July 2000. Mr. McDonough is based in ESPN.com's New York office and is responsible for advertising sales, sponsorships and the development of strategic partnership programs for ESPN.com. Prior to joining ESPN.com, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for eCal Corporation, a leading Internet application service provider. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, at iPing, Inc., responsible for the hiring and development of the sales, corporate development and marketing departments. iPing was sold to eCal in April 2000. Earlier, Mr. McDonough was Executive Vice President, Sales and Commerce at Spinner.com, where he supervised every aspect of sales, promotion, research and e-commerce. From July 1993 to June 1998, he worked at Inc. magazine, where he held the post of Publisher. Previously, he was National Sales Director for Newsweek magazine, and before that held sales management positions at Wenner Media, Meredith Corporation and Hearst Corporation.
