Barry Gilbert – Miadora Inc

BARRY GILBERT, Chairman and CEO, comes to Miadora, Inc. with 25 of years experience in the retail industry. He joined Miadora in June 1999. He most recently served as Vice-Chairman of The Sharper Image, directing its Stores, Catalog and Internet divisions. During his tenure, Sharper Image stock tripled in price. Prior to the Sharper Image, Mr. Gilbert spent six years as a Senior Vice President of the Warner Bros. Studio Stores, where he started the Stores Group in 1990, helping to create the first 100 stores. As Senior Vice President, International, he took the Warner Bros. Studio Store concept to international markets, including Australia, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and Singapore. During this time he developed a sourcing network spanning 14 countries to create products for international markets. Mr. Gilbert has experience in a broad range of merchandise categories, including ready to wear, fashion accessories, video, music, outerwear, and pharmaceuticals. He was Divisional Merchandise Manager of Fashion Accessories at the May Company and DMM of Ready to Wear at Federated Dept. Stores. He received an MBA in Marketing from the University of California at Berkeley and earned his BA in Philosophy from Berkeley in 1973. Profile
