Barbara Nelson – Neoscale Systems Inc

BARBARA NELSON is currently President & CEO of NeoScale. Systems, Inc. Ms. Nelson is driving NeoScale's business strategy and establishing the company as the leader in enterprise storage security. Barbara brings more than 25 years of broad industry experience. She was formerly EVP at Quantum for corporate marketing, strategy and IT where she consolidated Quantum's acquisitions into a unified strategy, brand and operational platform. As president of Quantum's DLTtape group (a billion dollar business and the tape market leader), she led the launch of the SDLT technology platform, grew new product categories and drove significant operational improvements. As GM of Quantum's desktop hard drive business, Barbara maintained its market leading position and introduced its consumer electronics products. Before joining Quantum, Barbara held senior leadership positions at Intel, Maxtor, Weitek and Lumina. In her 13 year tenure at Intel she ran marketing, manufacturing and engineering organizations. In her last role there, Nelson was responsible for developing Intel's private label memory business from its inception, to a profitable, several hundred million dollar business, in two years. Barbara holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. She is a board member for Support Network for Battered Women, a non- profit organization which addresses issues of domestic violence. Profile
