Archie Davis – The Savannah Bancorp

ARCHIE H. DAVIS is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Savannah Bancorp. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1966. He went to work with The Citizens and Southern National Bank in 1966. From 1971 to 1980, Mr. Davis served as President of C&S in Savannah. From 1980 to 1987 he was in charge of the Corporate and International Department for C&S in Atlanta. During 1988 and 1989, he served as Assistant to the President of Johnson, Lane, Space, Smith & Co., Inc. and after its merger with Interstate Securities served as Senior Vice President of Interstate/Johnson Lane. While working on raising the money for The Savannah Bank, N.A., he was recruited to return to Savannah and serve as the Bank's President and Chief Executive Officer. Currently he is the Vice Chairman of The Savannah Bank, N.A., and is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Savannah Bancorp, Inc. Mr. Davis is a member of the Board of Directors of Savannah Electric Power Company, Candler Foundation, Savannah Technical College and a Trustee of Historic Savannah.
