Anthony Coombs joined S&U in 1975 and was appointed Managing Director in 1999. Mr. Coombs also serves on the Executive Committee of the Consumer Credit Association and Chairs its Public Relations Executive and is a director of a number of companies and charities including the Birmingham Royal Ballet Trust Board. He is also a Director of Grevayne Properties Ltd which together with his brother Graham he founded in 1973. Between 1987 and 1997, Mr. Coombs served as a Member of Parliament and was a member of the Government. Mr. Coombs attended Bilton Grange School near Rugby, won a Foundation Scholarship to Charterhouse, then was a Holford Exhibitioner reading Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Worcester College, Oxford. He has been married since 1984 and lives with his wife Andrea and son Alexander (aged 17) in London and in the Midlands. Profile
