Alan Meckler – Internet.com Corporation (intm)

ALAN M. MECKLER is Chairman and CEO of INT Media Group, Incorporated. Mr. Meckler created a newsletter in October 1990 called Internet World. This founding was the first 'content' play for the Internet. Through his company Mecklermedia, he went on to create the Internet World trade shows (the fastest growing trade shows in trade show history ' in terms of revenue and paid square feet). Mecklermedia was acquired by Penton Media Inc. in November 1998 for $274 million in cash. This represented nearly a 1,000% return from the IPO of February 1994. After the deal was completed, Mr. Meckler purchased an 80.1% interest in the Mecklermedia Website internet.com, which became the independent company internet.com Corporation. The company went public in June 1999. On May 29, 2001, the company announced that it had changed its name from internet.com Corporation to INT Media Group, Incorporated to more accurately reflect its current business model. Profile
