ALAN S. LOWE has been the President and CEO of Read-Rite Corporation
since July 2000, and was previously President and Chief Operating
Officer since May 1997. He joined Read-Rite in 1989 in a Sales
Management position and served as Vice President Sales from November
1991 to August 1994, as Vice President of Customer Programs from August
1994 to November 1995, as Senior Vice President, Customer Programs from
November 1995 to October 1996 and as Senior Vice President, Customer
Business Units from October 1996 to April 1997. Prior to joining the
company, he was Sales Manager for Microcom Corporation, a data
communications hardware and software company, in 1989, and held various
sales positions at IBM from 1985 to 1989. Mr. Lowe holds BA degrees in
Computer Science and Business Economics from the University of
