A.bruce Mckelvey – Cdi Education Corporation (edu:tse)

A. BRUCE McKELVEY is CEO and Chairman of CDI Education Corporation. His career accomplishments have encompassed technology, education and organizational leadership. CDI, the former Education and Training Division of US multinational Control Data Corporation, became a Canadian-owned independent organization under Mr. McKelvey's leadership in 1990. In 1997 CDI was recognized by Arthur Andersen as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Private Companies, and in 1998 that distinction was again conferred. In June 1999 Mr. McKelvey took CDI public and it became a listed company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He started his career with Sperry Corporation and prior to leading the buyout of CDI, held senior executive positions with Control Data where he managed a number of operating units and was a Vice President and Director of the company. A graduate in Psychology at Queen's University, he is also active in many business and community activities. A former Chair of the Board of Directors for the Toronto Board of Trade, he currently serves as a Governing Council Member for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. He has held positions as a Director of the Ontario Association of Career Colleges, and served as a business leader on many skills training initiatives in Ontario and other provinces. Profile
