YVON CHAREST is President and Chief Executive Officer of Industrial-
Alliance Life Insurance Company. Mr. Charest has held several positions
within the company since 1988. He is on the Board of Directors of The
National Life Assurance Company of Canada; Unindal Inc., and its
subsidiaries; Chaire en assurance L'Industrielle-Alliance and Industrial
Alliance Pacific, Insurance and Financial Services; Vice Chairman of the
Board of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Member of the Board of
the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He is a Member of the Task Force on
the Fundamental Review of the Disciplinary Process; Member of the
Committee on the Role of the Appointed Actuary; Member of the Task Force
on Insurance legislation; Member of the Committee on Investments and
Chairman of the Subcommittee on C-1 Risk (Asset Default); Vice Chairman
of the Compliance Committee; Member of the Committee on Life Insurance
Financial Reporting and Chairman of the CLIFR's Subcommittee on
Provision for Adverse Deviation (PAD). Mr. Charest has a BA in Actuarial
Sciences, Laval University, F.S.A. (Fellow, Society of Actuaries),
F.C.I.A. (Fellow, Canadian Institure of Actuaries) and a Chartered
