WILLIAM G. SMITH JR. is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
of Capital City Bank Group, Inc., and Chairman of the Board of Capital
City Bank where he has worked since 1978 in numerous capacities. Mr.
Smith attended Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, and graduated in 1972
with the Faculty Medal for General Excellence. He received his Bachelor
of Science degree from The Florida State University in 1976. Mr. Smith
is a member of the Board of Directors of: Capital City Bank Group;
Capital City Bank; Darlington School; The Florida State University
Foundation; The Florida State University Athletic Board; Federal Reserve
Bank of Atlanta; and the City of Tallahassee Utility Commission. Former
professional associations include: Board of Directors, Jacksonville
Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; Board of Directors,
Southeast Community Hospital Board; Federal Advisory Council
representative for the Sixth District of the Federal Reserve System;
President of the Florida Bankers Association; Chair, Tallahassee
