Appointed CEO in January 2000 and Chairman of Columbia Laboratories,
Inc. since 1992, WILLIAM J. BOLOGNA has been a Director since the
company's inception in 1986. From 1988 to 1992, he served as Vice
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the US-based international women's
health research company. Columbia Laboratories is dedicated to the
development of women's healthcare products for infertility, menopause
and other gynecologic disorders. The company also develops over-the-
counter products, including those designed to help prevent sexually
transmitted diseases. Mr. Bologna is the author of numerous papers on
new product development and holds several patents in the field of drug
delivery systems, including Columbia's unique bioadhesive delivery
technology. His most recent patents include 'Method of Progesterone
Delivery and Effect Thereof' which was issued in the US on August 6,
1996 and 'Use and Composition of an Anti-Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Formulation,' issued on September 16, 1997. In addition, several new
patents were expected to be issued in 1999. From 1980 to 1991, Mr.
Bologna served as Chairman of his own consultancy, William Joseph
Bologna International, specializing in new product development and
medical marketing. Previously, he held the position of Senior Vice
President at William Douglas McAdams, a company specializing in new
product development and marketing. Mr. Bologna earned his Bachelor of
Science degree in Pharmacy from Fordham University in 1965 and his MBA
