WERNER HENRICH, is Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board of
Basilea Pharmaceutica. Mr. Henrich has an education as a Chemist and
European patent attorney. He has worked for F. Hoffmann-La Roche LTD in
Basel for more than 30 years. Mr. Henrich has held various positions at
Roche including Head of Global Intellectual Property and Pharmaceutical
Licensing and a member of the Roche Pharmaceutical Division Executive
Board for more than 12 years. In this function Mr. Henrich was
responsible for intellectual property activities of all Roche divisions
and for major pharmaceutical transactions including research
collaborations, patent settlements, licensing-in and out as well as
product acquisitions. Since May 2001, while still remaining a Senior
Vice President of Roche, Mr. Henrich has reduced his activities at Roche
to allow for his focused involvement in Basilea. Mr. Henrich continues
to serve on a part-time basis as a consultant in major licensing and
intellectual property activities to Roches Chairman and CEO and to
Roches Pharmaceutical Division Head. Profile
RON SCOTT is Chief Financial Officer of Basilea Pharmaceutica. Mr. Scott
obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees from Utah State University
and Harvard University in planning with an emphasis in finance. Mr.
Scott worked for the past eight years at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd in
management positions in Pharmaceutical Finance, Licensing and the Roche
Corporate Finance Mergers and Acquisitions Group. His assignments
included managing the call, primary and secondary offerings of
Genentech, Roche's biotech investment portfolio, acquisitions and
divestitures. Prior to joining F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, Mr. Scott
worked for the Prudential Investment Corporation in the US as Director
in Prudential's Finance and International Business Development Units,
managing divestitures and joint venture transactions. Profile
ANTHONY MAN is Chief Development Officer of Basilea Pharmaceutica. Dr.
Man has an MD from the University of Nottingham and an honors degree in
biochemistry. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
Following hospital practice in internal medicine and medical oncology,
Dr. Man spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry in England, France
and Switzerland. He has been involved in successful product development,
spanning preclinical development to commercialization. He has held a
variety of both operational and managerial positions in several
companies, most recently as Head of Translational Clinical Research and
Clinical Pharmacology in the Novartis Oncology Business Unit. Profile
