Wayne E. Perry – Nextlink Communications Inc (nxlk)

WAYNE E. PERRY currently serves as Vice-Chairman and CEO of NEXTLINK Communications, Inc. (a competitive local exchange carrier). Prior to joining NEXTLINK, Mr. Perry was the Vice-Chairman of AT&T Wireless Services, Inc. for two and one-half years, following the merger of AT&T and McCaw Cellular Communications, Inc. in September 1994. Prior to the merger, he served as Vice Chairman of McCaw since June 1989, and before that served as President since December 1985. Prior to becoming President of McCaw, Mr. Perry served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel and primary legal officer from 1976 to 1985. Mr. Perry is a member of the Executive Committee of the Association For Local Telecommunications Services ('ALTS'), the CLEC industry association. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association, the nationwide wireless industry association, for the 1993/94 term. Mr. Perry was appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of LIN Broadcasting Corporation on March 5, 1990. Mr. Perry has a B.A. from the University of Washington (Cum Laude), a J.D. from Lewis & Clark College (Cum Laude), and an L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University. He is a member of the American bar Association and the Washington State Bar Association. Mr. Perry was one of the founders of, and currently serves as, a director of Cable Plus. He also serves as a director NoveComm Inc., and is a member of the Advisor Board of the University of Washington and the Executive board of the Boy Scouts of America Chief Seattle Council. Profile
