W. Scott Harkonen – Intermune Pharmaceuticals Inc (itmn)

W. SCOTT HARKONEN, MD founded InterMune Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in February 1998 and has been Chief Executive Officer and President since the inception. Dr. Harkonen has served as a member of the Board of Directors since inception and is currently the Chairman of the Board. From September 1995 to April 1999, Dr. Harkonen served as Senior Vice President of Product Development and Operations for the Connetics Corporation, where he was instrumental in the spin-out of InterMune from Connetics. From 1991 to 1995, he was the Vice President of Medical and Regulatory Affairs at Univax Biologics. Dr. Harkonen is well-known and respected by the investment community, having played key roles in both the Univax and the Connetics public financings, including their IPOs. Dr. Harkonen received an MD from the University of Minnesota and holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Profile
