W. Austin Ligon – Carmax Auto Superstores Inc (kmx)

W. AUSTIN LIGON is President of CarMax Auto Superstores, Inc. and Senior Vice President of Automotive for Circuit City Stores, Inc. Mr. Ligon joined the company in 1990 as Vice President of Corporate Planning and was named Senior Vice President in 1991. He came to Circuit City from Marriott Corporation. He joined that company in 1984 as Director of Corporate Planning and Business Development. He served as Vice President of Marketing in the company's family restaurant division and as Vice President and General Manager of the Allie's Restaurant division. Mr. Ligon was a senior consultant for the Boston Consulting Group in London, England from 1980 to 1983 and an independent financial consultant to several international companies in Bangkok, Thailand, from 1983 to 1984. Mr. Ligon earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and politics and his Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Texas.
